ABOUT THE DESIGNER

My name is Alejandro Beltran and I am a current master’s candidate studying Interior Design at Florida State University. I am passionate about creating meaningul spaces that not only beautify, but serve the functional needs of their users. My undergraduate background in Sustainability & the Built Environment from the University of Florida has equipped me with the tools to approach complex challenges that shape the places we live, work, and play in.
With the majority of our time increasingly spent indoors, it is critical that the spaces we inhabit seek to adress the needs of a dynamic population, while simultaneously considering the impact that our built systems have on the natural envrionment. I aim to think beyond the conventional and explore strategies that consider the long-term needs of the space and its occupants.
THE TRIPLE BOTTOM LINE

PEOPLE
My designs seek to connect with occupants on an emotional and physical level by assessing the needs of a diverse population. It is critical to understand the impact of design on the wellbeing of those who rely on a space to fulfill their daily habits.

PLANET
My approach considers the impact of design on the natural environment through selecting finishes & equipment that utilize less intensive resources, while still maintaining goals of durability. Biophilic elements embrace the healing capabilities of nature.

PROFIT
Without a firm understanding of the economic feasibility of a design, it is difficult to increase buy-in from key stakeholders. I strive to think pragmatically about ways to minimize cost without compromising the integrity of the concept.
